Here’s the latest on the Korean cargo ship that’s apparently sunk in the Southern Atlantic.
According to the foreign ministry, commercial ships helping with the rescue found two Filipino crew Saturday night, but 22 others are still missing.
All of the crew are believed to have been in life jackets.
An ongoing search has recovered five of the ship’s six lifeboats.
The 266-thousand-ton ore carrier, called the Stellar Daisy, left Brazil last Sunday… with eight South Korean and 16 Filipino sailors on board… and was sailing some two-and-a-half thousand kilometers east of Uruguay.
Late Friday, Korean sailor sent a text message to inform the ship’s owner the vessel was sinking.
